Brrrrrrrrr.

After partying all night a god run was just what I needed. Woke up at 10, got dressed, headed to the park with Amber for the Fresh Start 5k. Snow and ice everywhere, no chalk marks to be seen :( Everyone showed up and the run started at 11. Had to run on the snowy grass at the start due to icy trails. The wind was brisk, about 20 mph and 27 degrees. Luckily I warmed up quick. Ran with Kevin and Erin most of the way then sprinted ahead to call out times for people as they finished. I finished in 33 minutes. Went to Caribou with everyone for some much deserved hot coffee afterwards. Num.

Chalk

Ran 2 miles to the park to chalk out the route for the first annual Fresh Start 5k run.  Beautiful 40 degree day! After running the entire course and chalking all the turns I noticed that a glove had fallen out of my pocket. Ran to Caribou to meet Amber and she dropped me off in the middle of the course. I ran the middle mile and found my glove at  mile 2. Can't wait for the new years run, should be fun.

Awesome!

The weather was warm and I had an hour to spare so I cranked out an 8.2 miler today. I went out thinking I would just aim for an hour of ten minute miles, but after the first mile I was feeling so good that I decided to go for it. I would have stopped after 10k but I had to get home, which of course required running farther, so I figured I might as well aim for a pr on the 7 mile. Ended up with a sub-26 minute 5k, 52 minute 10k, and 1 hour 7 miler. Fastest mile was 7:45. Results here. Some day I would love to hit a 7 minute mile, even better would be three of them in a row during a race...
For now I am just thankful to be running without any injuries, I'll never take that for granted again.

Christmas trail run

Went for a fabulous trail run in the woods near the quarries in St. Cloud. Managed to stub my toe on a root about 50 feet into the run, must have forgotten my trail-legs. After that the run was great. Perfect weather and my wonderful wife joined me for the run. 3 miles on about 32 minutes.

Snowy run

I woke up at 9:30, reached for my running clothes in a pile next to the bed, got all bundled up; thermals, tights, technical shirt, running jacket, hat, neck gator, socks, shoes, gps, headphones, gloves..Running in the winter takes so much more preparation than running in the summer.
When I started running toward Staring Lake the snow was just starting to fall. By the time I was half way around the snow was falling sideways. It was gorgeous. By the time I got home I was coated with fluffy snow. No pain, easy 6.25 mile run, 1 hour, 5 minutes.
